I did a demonstration on how to hand sew The Hebao at Happy Time Studio. The Hebao is developed as a hand sewing kit for people to get (backing) into sewing, and reconnecting with something memorable that we care about deeply.
I brought my studio to Issaquah Open Studio Tour 2026 to Lake Sammamish State Park. The funs we had:
I shared the hebao project and some no-sew kids-friendly pouches on a lovely evening workshop at Beaver Lake Lodge, Sammamish WA. Felt so good to see some wonderful faces from around the town. This session was sponsored by City of Sammamish's Art Commission, and is free to public.
I gave another amazing hebao workshop at downtown Seattle with Shunpike's ACES 2026. In addition to sewing, I also shared some cultural stories behind the design of this hebao -- I grew up seeing them stuffed, hung, and passed among loved ones. Enjoyed my time while meeting some super talented artists there!
The debut of The Cloud Project for kids -- a fun 3-hr table for kids to try a few stitches with their hands. "The most interesting table this morning" -- quoting a comment by an anonymous visitor 😉.
Part of AireCraft Festival 2026, I offered The Cloud Project again to promote art, craft, and sewing. Here are some things I learned summarized in an instagram post.
